UIN SMH Banten Delegation Embarks on a Journey to Russia
(INDONESIAN) A delegation from Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN SMH) in Banten is currently en route to Russia for an ambitious study visit to the Russian Islamic Institute (PT Islam Bolgar). The visit is scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 19, 2023, and includes several key figures from UIN SMH Banten, including the Rector, Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Director of Postgraduate Studies, and Vice Director of Postgraduate Studies.
The primary objective of this visit is to promote UIN SMH Banten on the international stage and establish cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This is intended to ensure the implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma, comprising education, research, and community service, in line with UIN SMH Banten’s vision and strategic plans.
Two major themes will be the primary focus of this visit. First, Professor Wawan Wahyuddin, the Rector of UIN SMH Banten, will address Indonesian Law with the theme “Comprehensive Study of Islamic Law in Indonesia: History, Application, and Contemporary Challenges.” Second, the Director of Postgraduate Studies will discuss critical educational issues in academic and social development.
Virtual meetings have been conducted as an initial step towards this visit, involving the Russian Ambassador, the Education Attaché, and the Rector of PT Islam Bolgar. Additional virtual meetings will be held before departure to Russia to ensure the well-preparation of the visit’s agenda.
Moreover, UIN SMH Banten will actively utilize social media to publicize activities during this visit with the aim of disseminating news and fostering a better understanding of educational and cultural exchanges between Indonesia and Russia.
This study visit is expected to be a significant milestone in strengthening the relationship between Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University in Banten and PT Islam Bolgar in Russia. It also seeks to promote a better understanding and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and diplomacy between the two countries
